We caught up with Adriana Liwsky, Certified Educator of Infant Massage, about what to know about this top-tier local resource for new and expectant parents.

What should expectant and new parents know about you and your business?

I am an Educator of Infant Massage,  certified by the International Asociation of Infant Massage, I have nine years of experience, having taught IM to more than 200 families. I am also a Birth and Postpartum Doula and a Lactation Consultant. I am passionate about helping families to have a great start on their journey in parenting.

I teach a series of three classes where parents learn how to soothe, relieve, and connect with their babies in a fun and purposeful way. Infant Massage is a skin-to-skin relationship that helps parents and babies better comprehend each other. Infant Massage promotes better sleep patterns and relaxation. It helps with colic, gas, and constipation in the most natural way. It regulates respiratory and circulatory systems while stimulating motor and memory development, among other benefits.

Infant Massage is a fun way to provide bonding and secure attachment through nurturing touch, undivided attention, one on one quality time, verbal/non-verbal communication and using all the senses,

What’s new (in the past year) with your business?

I offer private customized classes at the family’s home and also group classes at Chicago Family Picnic.

Which topics do you enjoy connecting with new and expectant parents about most?

I enjoy teaching parents about babies behavioral moods and identifying the best time to give them a massage. Parents, as well as the baby, enjoy it and find it a gratifying and meaningful experience.

Anything else you’d like to add?

I welcome parents’ questions about learning to provide tender loving touch through Infant Massage, soothing a fussy baby or anything that can improve baby’s cognitive and emotional development. My goal in teaching IM is to enhance parent-infant bonding, improve and maintain the physical well-being of babies and facilitate long-term, positive emotional growth.
