For someone unfamiliar with Chicco, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

Wherever There’s a Baby, you can find Chicco. We are committed to meeting the needs of children and bringing happiness to families all over the world. We love babies. We love making them feel secure, comfortable, and happy. And we love discovering new ways to do that. Through the help of our Happiness Lab, Chicco’s products are engineered for safety and comfort, and designed to accommodate babies throughout every stage.

Tell us about the company’s background. When did Chicco start and how has it evolved since then?

Chicco was founded in 1958 by Pietro Catelli, an inventor and a developer of pharmaceutical devices. After the birth of his son, Mr. Catelli expanded his work into the world of baby products and dedicated himself to creating better solutions for parents and babies. Since then, Chicco has grown into a global brand with a presence in 120 countries, offering everything from baby gear to nursing, toys, apparel, shoes, and baby care products. In the U.S.A., Chicco specializes in baby gear products such as car seats, strollers, highchairs, and playards.

What are the most popular and newest products from Chicco?

In the U.SA., Chicco is best known for its top-rated car seats, including the KeyFit® Infant Car Seat, NextFit® Convertible Car Seat, KidFit® Booster, and the new Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seat.

What sets Chicco apart in the baby marketplace?

Design, innovation, and fashion: our designs are easy to use, our innovations (like zip-and-wash car seat covers) solve the problems of parents, and our fashions lead the styling of the entire industry.

What is the Happiness Lab?

The Happiness Lab (Osservatorio Chicco in Italian) is an Italy-based group of child care experts networked with a wider-range of specialists in infant & child health and well-being. The Happiness Lab provides insights on new product design, child care trends, and consumer research.

What can parents expect from Chicco at the Chicago Baby Show?

We’re excited to debut our Fit2, a new kind of car seat designed with two unique positions for infants and toddlers that make it easier to stay rear-facing for the first two years. Visitors to our booth will have the opportunity for hands-on interaction with the Fit2 along with other new innovations like the BravoFor2 2-Passenger Sitting/Standing Stroller, and proven products like the KeyFit®, NextFit®, Bravo® Trio System, and Polly® Highchair.
