For someone unfamiliar with Insurance Covered Breast Pumps, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?
Insurance Covered Breast Pump’s mission is to help women obtain a high-quality breast pump through their insurance. Our program is designed to be easy for the mom by having our team take on all of the “heavy lifting” of getting a breast pump approved and reimbursed by the insurance company. Our experience team of billing specialists will contact the patient’s insurance to determine benefit eligibility and our Customer Service Representatives (CSR) will reach out to the patient’s physician for a prescription. We will then ship the breast pump directly to the patient’s house.
Tell us about the company’s background. When did it start and how has it evolved since then?
Insurance Covered Breast Pumps was launched in May 2014 as a division of Medsource, LLC. MedSource was involved in the breast pump market prior to May 2014 as many patients were being directed to our company by their insurance company since breast pumps fell under their Durable Medical Equipment (DME) benefits. As demand for our services grew, it made sense for our company to split off this division to specifically focus on the unique needs of breastfeeding moms.
As far as the parent company itself, Medsource was founded in 1997 with a goal to provide quality medical products and services that help patients achieve positive outcomes and improve their quality of life. Medsource has traditionally focused on post-surgical and ambulatory equipment but our portfolio of products and services has expanded due to the demand from our clinical customers.
What are the most popular and/or newest services from Insurance Covered Breast Pumps?
While we make available one of the most comprehensive portfolio of pumps available in the market, our top selling breast pump brands are Medela, Ardo and Spectra breast pumps. Each breast pump system has unique features and advantages. Through our trained and experienced CSR team, we tried to match the best breast pump system for the needs of the patient.
For example, Medela is one of the most requested breast pumps because it has the pioneer in this product category and has been on the market for so long. However, Medela is an open system which any condensation in the tubing and pump has the possibility of turning into mold which might contaminate a mom’s milk supply. On the other hand, Ardo and Spectra are both closed systems and receive very good reviews for the various features offered by them. Although not as well-known as Medela, these breast pumps are starting to grow in popularity.
What sets Insurance Covered Breast Pumps apart in the breast pump marketplace?
- Largest selection of Breast Pumps available allowing the Moms to choose what is best for them. Most companies will only carry 1 or 2 different brands and/or limit the patient with a lower reimbursing insurance to a lesser quality pump. At Insurance Covered Breast Pumps, we will offer all of the top brands to all of our patients regardless of insurance. Also, all of the pumps offered by our company have been tested by at least one of the nursing mothers on our staff. We have not added any breast pump lines without the endorsement of a nursing mother!
We work closely with their physicians and insurance company to make sure that obtaining a quality breast pump is as stress-free as possible!
What can parents expect from Insurance Covered Breast Pumps at the Chicago Baby Show?
