We spoke with a BWI team member about what to expect at this year’s Baby Show!
What should expectant and new parents know about your brand?
BWI is a volunteer-run non-profit organization dedicated to promoting babywearing as a universally accepted practice, with benefits for both child and caregiver. We provide education and support to all caregivers through our monthly meetings, special events, and outreach activities. The Chicagoland chapter has around eight meetings a month throughout Lake, DuPage, and Cook counties.
What’s new (in the past year) with your brand?
We are really excited about the big event we are planning for International Babywearing Week in October in Schaumburg. We look forward to sharing our love of babywearing with the community through speakers, activities, fun games, vendors, and raffles.
What is your most popular service right now?
Our lending library is our most popular service! For a $30 tax deductible donation, caregivers can help support our non-profit which allows us to maintain and expand our lending library, provide outreach opportunities, and scholarships. In addition, members get the benefit of checking out a carrier per month. Caregivers enjoy being able to use carriers for a more budget-friendly price as well as try out carriers to see what works best before they make a purchase. Our newest service is offering text message reminders for upcoming meetings and emails a week before a carrier is due!
Are you offering any special contests or discounts for Chicago Baby Show attendees in 2018?
BWI Chicagoland is excited to present two sessions on babywearing at the Chicago Baby Show. We will show types of carriers, give an overview of the top evidence based tips to remember when wearing a child, and demonstrate a variety of carriers using babies and demo dolls so you can see babywearing in action! Leaders will be available to answer any questions as well!
